Vikapic Mobile Application: Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 16th, 2024

This Privacy Policy explains how Synaptica Ventures Limited (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information from users (“you”, “your”) of the Vikapic mobile application (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining compliance with applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). As such, we do not collect any personal identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or contact details that could be used to identify you personally.

The only information we collect is:

a. Medication Data
  • Medication Input: When you scan or manually enter your medications, we collect information about the medications such as drug names, dosages, and other related data solely to generate the drug interaction report.

b. Non-Personal Information
  • Usage Data: We collect non-personal information related to your interaction with the App, including your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type, version, and diagnostic data.

  • Device Information: This includes your device’s unique identifier, operating system, mobile network information, and details about your use of the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Drug Interaction Reports: To generate reports based on the medication data you provide for informational purposes only.

  • Improvement and Analytics: To improve the performance, usability, and functionality of the App through aggregated, non-personal data.

  • Customer Support: To provide user support if needed, based solely on anonymized or non-personal data.

3. How We Share Your Information

We respect your privacy and do not share any personal data because none is collected. In the following limited instances, we may share non-personal information:

  • Service Providers: We may share anonymized and aggregated usage data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in analyzing and improving the App’s functionality.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to legal requests, such as a court order or government investigation, or if necessary to protect our rights.

4. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable measures to safeguard the data we collect by using industry-standard security practices, including encryption, firewalls, and secure data storage. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Because we do not collect personal data such as your name or contact information, this also helps minimize the risk of privacy breaches or data exposure.

5. Your Data Rights

As the App does not collect any personally identifiable information, there are limited privacy rights related to data correction or deletion. However, if you have concerns about the usage of the anonymized data, you may uninstall the App, which will cease the collection of any further information.

6. Data Retention

We retain anonymized data related to medication inputs and usage for as long as necessary to improve and maintain the functionality of the App. You may delete all medication data by uninstalling the App.

7. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies before interacting with them.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we inadvertently collect such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. HIPAA Compliance

Because Vikapic does not collect or store any personal identifiable information (PII), we are not subject to the same data privacy and security requirements that would apply if personal health information (PHI) were involved. However, we ensure that the medication data collected is anonymized and cannot be traced back to any individual user.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide by the revised policy.
